- 21% smaller (but same screen size)
- 15% lighter (it weighs 8.7 ounces only)
- Double battery life
- Additional 2GB built-in memory (total 4GB)
- 20% faster page-turn
- Different design of buttons and keypad
- Better browser
- Improved PDF reader
- More text-to-speech options
In addition, Amazon will be selling two new covers for the latest Kindle, with one of them having an attached reading light.
Amazon has started taking pre-orders for both versions of the Kindle. For those of you who have purchased a Kindle in the past 30 days, you can return it and get the new Kindle when it ships on August 27.
